-meet new people (you will probably never see them again but it never hurts to strike up a conversation)

Otherkin by Nina Berry

I thought I knew myself. Then I met Caleb.

Dez is a good girl who does as she’s told and tries not to be noticed.
Then she rescues a boy from a cage, and he tells her secrets about herself.
Now inside her burns a darkness that will transform her.

Everything is about to change -- and neither Caleb, nor the Otherkin, nor those who hunt them are prepared for what Dez will unleash.

Otherkin is one of those books I wasn't sure if I liked or not. I was amazed how the story went right into the action and propelled you forward from there, but then the story kinda died off for me in the middle. Let me explain a little farther what I mean. Dez the main heroine in the story is a tiger shifter, here's the catch though she had no clue she was a shifter. Next she is caught and set up in "prison" with a cute guy. For a paranormal YA book it had me at this point. Then came some battles but  the story starts dragging when Dez enters school. I felt like the story lost me because it veered away from the otherworld and some things that needed explanation. All in all, it was a good light read, but I am going to withhold my 5 Stars on this one. This book defiantly could give rise to an epic series, I will just wait and see what's to come.

What I am reading......Covet by Melissa Darnell

What am I reading right now.......Covet by Melissa Darnell.

Covet (The Clann, #2)copyright Harlequin
This is the sequel to Crave and part of the ongoing Clann series, but before you pick up this tasty morsel I highly suggest you read the first book, otherwise you will be lost. Also, the first book's cover is twenty times better. This cover makes me think extreme makeover book edition.
Anyway let's get down to some reviewing of the book.
I would have to say the sequel is better then the first book. Instead of the monetizing back and forth teen angst we had to deal with in the first book, the plot of this book is all set up and ready to give you some action. This book is defiantly a paranormal Romeo and Juliet, if that  was what Melissa was going for she aced it. The storyline allowed you to connect with the main characters and this book was able to develop some interesting avenues for side characters. Also that ending side swiped me like a bicycler riding on the sidewalk. I just adore that bubbly feeling when a story just comes together. Now just to camp out till the next book in the series comes out in 2013.
Here's a sad kitten to express how I feel.

Interested, what about a book summary?
Broken hearts. Betrayals. Dangerous games.
Dangerous to be together. Painful to be apart.
Savannah Colbert knows she broke up with Tristan Coleman for the right reasons. Most of all, to keep from killing him with her new vampire abilities. But try telling her heart. Now, lost in a sea of hostile Clann faces, Sav tries to come to terms with what she’s becoming and what that means for her future. And that someone is
doing their best to bully her into making a terrible mistake.
Tristan can’t believe Sav won’t even talk to him. If being apart is her decision, fine. Just don’t expect him to honor it. But even as he prepares to fight for the girl he loves, forces beyond their control take them both in directions neither could have foreseen or prepared for.
A reckoning is coming...and not everyone will survive.

Release Date: Sept. 25, 2012

So just a little run down on the bookage.

Damsel/Heroine: Savannah, (half vampire/half witch), basically has a Juliet complex going down. She loves the boy but wants to save him from herself. She did a lot of self growth in this book, she was a lot less teen angst this time around. However, there is still plenty of angst so don't worry.

White Knight/ Hero: Tristan (witch), has he got the hots for Savannah, in a very Romeo paranormal way. Basically, he loves her so much he's willing to put himself in harms way.The only problem with this boy is that he is sometimes on the verge of being a creepier, but it's in the cute Romeo stalking Juliet's balcony kinda way.

Villain: *spoiler* It's pretty hard to figure out the Villain. Aka this was a sneak attack character wise.

Sidekick: Anne is just one of those girls that you love to see in books. Screw being human they are still ready to be more hero than the heroine at times.

Also I heard this song and thought it summoned up the book: Enjoy We found Love by Rhianna

Why do all the books have to become movies?

Not all books should become movies, just like not all movies should become books. Do you remember in geometry how all squares are rectangles but rectangles are not all squares. It is just like that. Some books are amazing simply because there plot goes deep into the person's emotional turmoil. For these plots to work as movies the whole movie would have to be in voice over. It took me forever to put my finger on why the hunger games was not completly what I hoped for, no voice overs. The whole time your watching your like what is Katniss thinking. Well, if you read the books you understand what's on the up and up. If you didn't your thinking uhhhhhhh and wtf just happened.

Back to the main point, books *usally* loss that spark that made them iconic when they become movies. Several exceptions are to To Kill a Mockingbird and the original Scarlet Letter movie. Both those movies were well done and followed the books closely. Idk about everyone else but I tend to get disappointed when that pivotal part of a book is all waperjawed in the movie version. Maybe one day movies will be redeemed.
By the way, here are some books that are ****rumoured**** to become movies. The Tiger Curse Series, according to the author's blog the screen play will be written by the writer on the Vampire Diaries Series. Vampire Academy is also rumoured to have a future movie in the works. Check out IMBD if you don't believe me. Hey, that kinda rhymed.
The only exception to this whole rant is comic books and anime, and that is just because they are pretty darn close to being the same format.
So here's to you superheros may your comic/movie/tv series live on and may the simple good vs. evil plot live on.
